Information You Submit
A third-party provider receives names, phone numbers, or addresses entered in a search form. Our servers do not retain a copy of those queries. When you contact us, we receive the details in that message and use them to answer.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard hosting logs can record an IP address, browser type, visit time, and pages requested. We review combined traffic to maintain the service and understand general use. Basic analytics and advertising measurement may rely on cookies or similar tools where applicable.
How Information Is Used
We use limited data to run the service, repair errors, measure visits, and improve content. We neither sell visitor lists nor create personal profiles of readers.
Privacy on Linked Services
County and state portals, archives, libraries, and outside search providers follow their own privacy terms. Once you leave this service, that operator controls submitted data. Sponsored results are also supplied by a third party.
Limited Data Sharing
Hosting and support vendors process routine logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic information described here. Other disclosure occurs only when valid legal process requires it.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
Wisconsin protects privacy through laws aimed at specific kinds of data. Wis. Stat. §134.97 addresses disposal of records containing personal information, but official state material identifies no comprehensive consumer privacy law, general deletion right, or universal opt-out system. Wisconsin Public Records Law, Wis. Stat. §§19.31–19.39, governs access to records held by public custodians and does not give us control over those records. We can review our contact mailbox and server logs when a request arrives through the Contact page. Questions about a Wisconsin, Douglas County, or Superior government record must go to the office that keeps it.
Policy Changes
Revisions will appear here. Continued use after an update signals acceptance of the revised policy.
